newborough womens institute
Newborough Women's Institute was formed in 1971 and members meet monthly on the second Tuesday of each month, usually at the School in Newborough but occasionally in member's homes. Any lady is welcome to attend. Visitors may attend 2 meetings before being asked to join - the current (2012) annual subscription is £31.50, which includes 10 issues of the WI's own magazine 'WI Life'.
During the past year the programme has included a wide variety of topics - the development of Trentham Gardens; history of Ukuleles; birth stones; origins of sayings; a flower arranging demonstration; the history of Staffordshire Oatcakes and riding round the world on a motor-cycle included.
Future talks include a wide variety, with Wild flowers, Thailand and family history amongst several planned outings.
