What other help are we receiving?
Parish Plans were announced in the Governments ‘Rural White Paper’ with the aim of encouraging local communities to take more control of their own lives by setting out a vision for how their community wants to develop and identifying the actions needed to achieve this. The Newborough Parish Plan will give everyone in our village community the opportunity to influence the development of Parish Council policy for the next 5 to 10 years. The process involves using a mix of evidence collection, different types of consultation and debate at the local neighbourhood level.
The Newborough Parish Plan will give local people the opportunity to contribute towards the destiny of the their own community. It will give evidence to help informed policy making by a range of organisations including the Parish Council.
What information could be in the Parish Plan?
Household issues such as childcare and schooling, housing demand, transport issues (including traffic calming and parking), crime and policing, environmental issues (such as litter, flooding, street lighting, refuse collection/recycling and footpaths/bridleways), village facilities including facilities for young parishioners.
What help is needed from the local community?
Volunteers from all aspects of village life, representing a diverse range of the community by age, profession, culture and gender are required to be part of the steering committee (8 – 12 people).
What other help are we receiving?
Support is being provided from the Parish Council, Rural Community Council Support and from the Countryside Agency who, in addition to providing free help and advice, have awarded a grant for producing the plan.
